“It’s fitting that a village as pretty as Harome should be blessed with two beacons of country hospitality: the famous Star Inn and the Pheasant Hotel. A full bedroom refurbishment is planned, but otherwise nothing much has changed at the latter following a change of ownership in 2022, which is good news for anyone familiar with the roaring fires, the candlelit bar, the winged chairs and the polished oak settles. The cushions are well-plumped, the tartan throws are in place – it’s as cossetting as ever.”
