The Pheasant Hotel

The Pheasant has arguably one of the most beautiful Country Hotel settings in North Yorkshire, overlooking the duck pond in the picturesque village of Harome.

Originally converted from what had been the blacksmith’s shop, village shop and barns, the main part of the hotel offers one single and eleven double rooms, whilst in the sheltered courtyard are two suites, Pheasant Suite and Plum Cottage, each with its own private entrance, two further family rooms and the indoor swimming pool. The stylish and highly individual interiors give the accommodation a homely and welcoming feel, which continues through the public areas: the lounge, bar, conservatory, dining room and terrace, providing a variety of options of where to eat or enjoy a drink.

The Pheasant has established a reputation for great food and currently holds 2 AA rosettes.

Residents and non-residents can choose from a wide range of menus, all taking advantage of the wealth of local, seasonal produce, including a Bar Menu, a Vegetarian/Vegan Menu, the A la Carte and a Tasting Menu with optional matched wine package.

There are ten first floor and one ground floor double room within the main building, seven of the first floor rooms can be booked as twin rooms and there is also a first floor single room. All have ensuite facilities, flat screen televisions and iPod docking stations. Certain rooms have views over the duck ponds; others views over the courtyard. Most have gun cabinets for visiting shooting parties.

The most recent additions to the hotel are the two suites with their own entrances from the courtyard. Plum Cottage is a romantic hideaway with roll-top bath in the bedroom and French doors opening onto a secluded terrace. Pheasant Suite benefits from accommodation over two floors providing a sitting room (with sofa bed) on the ground floor and a bedroom and bathroom to the first floor.

In addition to a number of flexibile rooms in the main hotel building which have additional sofa beds, there are two dedicated family suites which are also dog-friendly, Mallards and Pear Tree. These are positioned closest to the swimming pool within the courtyard and each has its own small kitchen and lounge area with open fire, double bedroom and second bedroom for up to 2 children.

All in all there is something for everyone!
